I managed to get a set of these during the Black Friday sales week for ~£55 and am very happy with my purchase. I am truly surprised how good the sound quality is (they sound deep, like Hi-Fi headphones - you can hear every little detail of a song and you will know where the enemy is while gaming) and how loud the speakers are at maximum volume and they don't have any major sound distortion like cheaper ones usually have.
I only noticed that while listening to music with a bit more bass, the speakers tend to automatically lover the volume during more demanding parts of the song (I guess that the speakers just are unable to play several different frequencies at the same time at full power).
Other than that I love 'em. These little speakers are GREAT for movies/TV and gaming - just not at he full retail price of £79.99. I would suggest to get the GigaWorks T40 instead if you can't find HD50s at a lower price (hence the 4* rating).
