The HS-1200 is built to complement Windows Vista and Windows XP to deliver true plug and play capability via a USB transceiver. Install X-Fi to enjoy the ultimate audio experience. You can also get up to 8 hours of non-stop entertainment - simply charge the headset through any powered USB port, even while using it.

Compatible for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications
The dedicated earcup control buttons optimised for Windows Live Messenger allow you to manage calls conveniently. You can even adjust the volume on the earcup itself, and it works great for Skype too.

I bought these to use for gaming as I was finding the cables from my wired headset were becoming a bit of a nuisance during gaming especially when using a steering wheel. While these do away with the wires they really are more trouble than they are worth. I'll just list the pros and cons rather than waffle on about this and that.

    Pros.
    Sound is quite good.
Buttons on the side of the headset are useful.
Will work for 5-6 hours on one charge.

    Cons.
No way to tell how much power you have left, an incessant beeping will start until you connect the charging cable, there is no early warning.
Mic on mine worked when it felt like it until it stopped working completely.
The claimed range is laughable, even thin interior walls cut the signal off.
The included drivers and software are out of date forcing the use of Creatives slow site to get updates.
Creatives software and drivers are garbage, more often than not the software will not recognise the hardware.
You can use them while charging but the cable is so short you won't want to.

I really can't recommend these. I'll be going back to my old wired headset, yes the wires can be a pain but nowhere near as much of a pain as these things are.

    Two shortcomings:
    - Even thought you can use it while charging, the cord is very short. So if you don't have a front panel USB port or an extender, you won't be all that happy. And even if you do, the puck will most likely be hanging in the air, making it more uncomfortable.
    - If you have it on you all day, you will most likely be recharging it twice a day.
Sound and mic quality is excellent, even from a distance. Battery life is acceptable. No official Windows 7 drivers to this day. Takes a bit long for the ear cups to break in.

    Update:
I actually could not "break them in". I wore them for the better part of a day for maybe one and a half week and all I got was sore ears. Now it's just gathering dust on the shelf. Could be it's not designed for my head. If you have more patience with breaking them in, you could try them, but I'd rather I spent my money on something else.

Ive been gaming for years now, and the times i've almost choked myself whilst taking online, doesn't bare thinking about, these earphones rock...mine are NOT quiet as is said in the above review, they're too loud sometimes, they lack a subtle volume control, it tends to go up or down in large segments, plus being USB, you have to keep gooing into sound properties and swapping between the headset and / or comp speakers, but apart from that, they work great on skype, teamspeak, ventrillo etc..and last hours b4 they need a recharge.I rate them highly as one of my best buys, and I moan about everything normally :).
