1.0 out of 5 stars Creative After Sales and No Spares 28 Feb 2011
By Ben10
Don't get me wrong the headphones were absolutely brilliant before the microphone accidently got broken, I thought no problem as the microphone is a plug in type with a jack. I contacted Creative to get a spare one only to be told they don't sell spare microphones, how ridiculous. I searched the internet for a spare one only to find a number of forums from disgruntled people who were also in the same situation as me. I have not been able to find a spare microphone, so the headphones are now no good to me, I am having to get another pair and they won't be from Creative. Creative are only interested in selling new products and not supporting the ones they have sold.

The moral of the story is, if you buy the sound blaster headphones don't break or loose the microphone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware the trailing wire 30 Jun 2011
By Lethn
I don't normally post up reviews for products like this but considering that this headset is so damn expensive I thought I should alert people to a problem with it.

Now don't get me wrong, this is the best bloody headset I think that money can buy, if you buy this then you will never accept another headset again purely because of the brilliant sound quality and how there is very little static on the microphone that comes with it. The best part about this headset I have found is that you can quite happily blast whatever you are listening to full and even if it's 6:00am in the morning absolutely no sound will come out so say goodbye to your speakers if you have them.

However, I have managed to break two of these due to my own lack of attention to the very long and trailing USB wire that you plug into the computer I ended up knocking the headset off the table and breaking it. I can't stress enough that maybe wrapping up the unused wire and tying it up would be a good plan or at least make sure when you leave the headset alone that you put it somewhere you can't knock off easily. Now on normal headsets this wouldn't be as much of an issue but for some reason the frame that holds the two speakers together is exceptionally fragile and can only withstand a few knocks even if the surface is carpet.

If any Creative employees are actually reading these product reviews! Please! Please fix the headset so it is built far more solidly! Right now it seems as though all I'm paying for is sound quality and not build quality!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy :) 20 April 2010
Just got them today and took some time to get them properly set up to work well with Team Speak and all my games I run but that may have just been me.

Very happy with the sound im a big fan of CoD MW/2 and BF BC2 and the sounds you get with this headset is well worth the money knowing how they sound I would be happy to pay £120 for them.

I have been playing today now for about 6 hours no stop with them on and can say I don't feel like I have had them on at all very commutable.

Only down side is the look and feel a bit weak and flimsy and that is the only down side to them.

Overall a big 5 stars from me would recommend them to any1 and with this price they can be good for the experienced gamer or the new gamer looking for a good headset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant. 6 Mar 2010
Verified Purchase
I knew that these would be good when I ordered as I always take the time to read reviews. These do NOT disappoint.

I have used so many headsets over the years, Sennheiser, Plantronics, Creative etc and this is by far the best. I use Windows 7, so having an emulated 3d surround sound in my headset while playing Bad Company 2 was, for once, a breath of fresh air.

Where shall I begin? Just kidding, I know exactly where. The bass.. ohhh that bass. Bad Company 2 has excellent sounds and wow, I couldn't believe what I had been missing while using my uncomfortable Plantronics. The bass is so rich, so deep, so defined. The sounds now have a soul!

Comfortable? Yes. Very big Yes. I previously had a Plantronics gamecon set, which had such big and yet so shallow ear cups. They covered all the way round my ear, but they weren't deep enough so my ears would start to ache. However the Arena has slightly smaller cups but they are deeper! My ears don't touch anything. There is one niggle which is probably just me. Depending on where the headstrap is placed on the top of your head, it may ache after a while but I'm still not sure if it's just me or not. It's not that noticeable and I do tend to wear them for many, many hours.

This comfort also goes towards external sounds. With my Plantronics, I had got used to how the keyboard sounded with my headset on. With the Arena on, I can't hear it! I can hardly hear anything, it's fantastic (unless of course I miss a delivery, but it would have been worth it).

The cups swivel well so the headset, instead of pulling your ears off when you try to remove it, just glides. I was pleasantly surprised by that one small thing!
