This book is fabulous with it's detailed patterns and various faces, sculpted, painted are truly gorgeous. It is a book for the more experienced doll maker I think but I'm going to give it a go. There are patterns for the dolls and clothes, as well as a gallery of other doll-makers dolls to give you inspiration.

excellent book with patterns for an inspiring cloth doll and some exotic outfits...fairy, hippy, 1940s. be advised that culea's later work, 'creative cloth doll collection' (a thicker & more comprehensive work) reproduces quite a lot of the designs found here!

the only question for the keen doll maker on opening the pages of this book are "where do i begin?". there are so many great ideas for designing a range of fabulous outfits it is difficult to decide what to try first. from thirties inspired ball gowns to whimsical fairy costumes - a formal retro suit complete with cami knickers underneath to a flower power hippy chick. delicious colour photos, plenty of tips and a little background from the contibuting artists. i was delighted with this book.
