The first thing I would point out about this book is the thickness: a mere 34 pages. I had expected a "book" and must confess I was a little deluded in discovering a "booklet". Nonetheless the 34 pages are full, full, full of great ideas. The sense of colour here is at its best and many projects are quite original. I already own several other books on polymer clay but this added something more. I regret there are no instructions for some of the projects displayed (like the ethnic woman playing the flute on the cover) but there are some other great (and challenging!!) projects to follow (like the dragonfly). Certainly worth buying it.

This book is definitely not for a beginner. The author seems more interested with extravagant definitions than clear and simple instructions. Steps are missing and some of the examples of cane work are of poor quality. It did inspire though, so all was not lost.

Not what I expected

I was disappointed with this book. Being a polymer clay user, I purchased the book for the beautiful projects on the cover, however none were addressed, only similar canes. Do not expect the book to show you how to make the projects on cover, it is only techniques for making canes. There are other books on the market that will show you how to develop canes and how to bring all the pieces together for a work of art.

This book is VERY poorly written, illustrated, and edited. It appears it was carelessly slapped together with no regard or consideration for ease of comprehension by the reader. To try was an exercise in frustration.
