So i bought these a week ago, and for the first day they were absolutely fine, ok sound, nothing spectacular. But i was dissapointed by the surround sound (which isnt true 7.1 by the way, its simulated 7.1) which was not very good.
However after one day the right earcup stopped working. Creative has No phone support so i emailed them explaining what i had done to try and fix the problem, and after 2 days they responded with "please try restarting your computer. If this does not solve the issue please contact us again and i will be happy to assist you further"
    RESTART!?
    seriously creative?
no phone support is bad enough but this?
I will NOT be buying from creative again.

But anyway, here are the goods and bads:

    PROS:
    -Decent sound quality
    -Good bass
    -OK-ish surround sound

    CONS:
    -NOT true 7.1 surround sound
-Software is not included and must be downloaded seperately which is exremely hard considering the link they provide in the instructions gives a 404 error.
    -HORRIBLE support
    -Bad build quality

needless to say i have returned my product and will look elsewhere
    buy with caution

UPDATE: My friend purchased the same headset yesterday and his were even worse, both of his ear cups worked but they were almost the same as a stereo headset, no surround at all
this is the final nail in the coffin for me

I managed to get a couple of hours with these headphones before my children noticed them. After that, I haven't had a look-in, but the headphones have seen heavy-duty use playing Team Fortress 2 and League of Legends. Although they're not the best headphones for listening to music, when they're used for playing games on a PC they have everything a young adult gamer could want.

They plug into a USB port, and fully integrate with the PC - so when you turn the volume control on the headset, it adjusts the PC's master volume. You can change the way the sides of the headphones light up, and better, you can make the light pulse along with the soundtrack. You can use a preset to make dialogue clearer or to improve the surround-sound-like stereo effect. My daughter likes the way you can adjust your voice using the companion software - she uses the "female to male" setting, to avoid being trolled when she's playing online. My son likes the way the headphones look, the easily adjustable microphone position and the extra (thin) cable that comes with it so you can also use the headset as a hands-free for your phone (I tried this out on a Google Nexus 4, and the sound quality was very good indeed).

They're chunky closed-can headphones, with a hard plastic shell that can conduct extraneous sounds. They're quite comfortable to wear - the headband is sufficiently adjustable to fit most heads.

On the downside, the sound is a bit boomy, so not ideal for music (though it is great for listening to explosions!), and the thick USB cable can initially be a bit distracting until you realise you can shape it so it doesn't get in the way. You need to download the software; on my laptop, the installation froze at 71%, but when I rebooted, all the software appeared to be correctly installed.

Bought for predominantly PC gaming and initially thought these were pretty good. It was my first venture into a decent gaming headset and as a casual gamer thought best not to go stupid crazy and pay more than what I needed for a headset.

For me I didn't have any problems with the software itself, but you do have to do a bit of digging on the site to find the right software but what I did notice was the weight of the headset even as soon as five minutes into wearing the headset you can feel the headrest embedding itself into your skull :(

The sound was OK, but ended up turning off the 3D facility on the headset as it wasn't very good. That said the headsets on ear controls for mute and volume control were conveniently placed.

After 3 months I started having difficulties with in game sound and my mic was intermittently cutting out. It turns out it was supposed "high quality USB lead" that was broke. I contacted Creative Labs via email as they have no other support mechanism asking if I could purchase another cable or at least find out where they stocked them but they never responded, that was 3 months ago.

Overall this feels more like an expensive toy than a middle weight gaming headset, the only things that seemed to work without any issues was the colour changing ear cups although to this day I see zero point in these as your wearing them so wont be able to see it anyway, and the voice FX which again only offers rudimentary pitch changes to make to sound like a squeaky teen, these kind of facilities are usually available on your operating system (Windows/OSX) in any case.

Sound quality when working was pretty good for multiplayer gaming. Even better if you have a creative soundcard.

After a short while though the sound started going off intermittently, and eventually died.

Most creative headsets I've had have been good build quality, but in this design the sound controller is in the headphone, and it simply feels cheaply made.

Amazon arranged a return and refund extremely quickly, so thanks to Amazon! I'll be buying a different headset in due course, with a more traditional in-line controller.
