It's only the OEM version of the card, so it doesn't come with a fancy box or anything like that. But what it does come with is a sticker, and a CD full of all the recommended software and drivers for it. The CD contains the SoundBlaster drivers, all of the control panel for it such as EAX control panel, speaker config, etc. Creative Media Source also comes with it, as does an automatic updater which is used to retrieve updates automatically off the web. Great for lazy people like me who don't want to navigate Creative's website looking for new drivers!
Before I had this soundcard, I was stuck with Realtek AC'97 onboard audio, and it's not really what I wanted. I record a lot of music off the computer, and it wasn't good enough. I have a Creative SB Live! in one PC, so I decided to get the next model up from that. The best settings for recording is to select 'What you hear'; you may have to increase the volume of your recordings in the software you use, but it's better than having the recording clipped like my onboard sound did.
The best thing about this soundcard is that you can alter the controls for the bass if you do not have any controls on the sub itself. In the control panel, you can have bass boost set by percentage and also change the cut off frequency, which will go between 10Hz and 200Hz. The sound quality is exceptionally clear and I find overall that the Creative drivers are much more compatible with other software, especially games, than my old onboard drivers. Good soundcard, not the newest piece of technology around, but it's affordable and gives you great output!
