This is a wonderful book to add to anyone's library. This book shows the effects different types of marks a pen creates. It would be a good book to have if pen & ink were the only thing of interest. Fortunately the watercolor sections are just as good and when she combines the two the effect is stunning. Ms. Nice provides ample demonstrations for both the pen & ink and watercolor. She demonstrates different ways of creating texture with watercolor - using alcohol or rock salt for example.
After getting this book I started to practice pen & ink just so I could expand my horizons with my watercolors. The results have delighted me so much most of my new watercolor paintings have pen & ink in them.

A very concise and informative book. Well illustrated and very clear. A great source of inspiration especially for beginners who wish to make a start in this type of artwork. All techniques are covered with superb examples including close-ups. Highly recommended.

I absolutely agree with the other reviewers and for once with the publisher's blurb.
This book is a mine of information on how to achieve mixed pen and watercolour results.
The presentation is all based on stunning examplars with accompanying notes on techniques to achieve these results - loads of inspiration whether you are interested in drawing, watercolouring or in combining the two.

Very very good
Claudia's Nice explanations are easy to understand and easy to follow. This book teaches a lot of useful techniques that do provide a greater confidence when using watercolor. Read more

Looking through this book made me enthusiastic about trying some of the techniques out. Easy to understand with beautiful illustrations.
