Product Description

Product Description

Cushions are the easiest item of soft furnishing to make, and this book starts with a section on the essential sewing techniques, including making your own cushion pad, fitting a zipper, creating flap openings, and adding decorative cord. As well as classic needlework the projects also draw upon simple techniques from the related crafts of embroidery, ribbonwork, beadwork, woolwork, applique, hand-painting, felting and patchwork, to create a highly original collection. Choose from a monochrome Mitred Border Cushion to accent a wooden chair, a Patchwork Bolster for a country style bedroom, a Flat Cushion with Ties as a solution for a hard dining chair, or a Fringed Velvet Cushion for a sumptuous living room luxury.

Attractive coloured pictures but the illustrations on the 'how to' step by step approach are far too small to be able to see the detail. Not at all helpful and certainly not for someone who has never made cushion covers before. This book represents a good argument for why you should never buy a craft book without having browsed through it before buying - something you cannot do when buying online.Creating Cushions and Cushion Covers: How to Sew and Embellish 15 Gorgeous Bolsters, Pillows and Slipcovers - Easy Techniques with 100 Photographs and Artworks

Enjoying looking through this book and deciding what to make. Good instructions and advice. Going to look in the attic to find all those materials that have been stored for the last twelve years and match together fabrics and ribbons. Very inspirational and exciting.
