For weeks I just couldn't get my head round css - until I found this book.
It's well written and covers the subject in a really user-friendly way. Plus many useful comments and links to related sites.
If you want to learn css from the beginning and become proficient quite quickly, I would recommend this publication to you

This is the best start here in understanding and planning your own website, especially for a small business. Not everything you need but, after reading this, you know what you need to look at next. Get it.

The book starts well but then makes lots of jumps without explaining how to get there. The book gives details of the websites where you can download the code so that you can follow it through step-by-step, and see the finished projects described. Unfortunately these websites were never published, the book's publisher does not have copies of them, and the book is now out of print. This would have been a great book if it also included the code for you to read through, as it is you are left guessing for much of the time.
