I have never written a review before about a product i have bought but i feel very compelled to leave one here about this helmet as i would not advise that anyone buys one. They are impossible to fasten securely so they drop back on the head and provide no protection for the face. After my daughter fell from her scooter and would have smashed her face completely had it not been for the 'peak' of the regular designed helmet, i know how important this part of the helmet is for protection. The tiger one that i bought has no 'peak' to protect the face and even less protection happens when the helmet does not sit on the head well and tips back. It also has to sit very high on the head no matter how much you try to squash it down for a closer fit or loosen the strap inside. Yes they do come in great animal shapes and they are a real head turner but what you actually want from a helmet is to protect your child's face, brain and head - not have complete strangers comment on how cool the helmet looks. After spending hours in A&E with my daughter when she fell from her scooter and the surgeon saying "thank goodness she had a good helmet on" i have now binned the crazy stuff tiger helmet as i strongly believe it will not protect my son's 4 year old head and face.

this is, as the others have said, a real head turner - my two year old gets noticed all the time and the other kids love it. its a bit of a wobbly fit as the others have said too. we've only used it for a few months though and the plastic ears have cracks in them, very disappointing for such an expensive helmet. the plastic seems really fragile' making me wonder if it wouldn't just shatter on any big impact, or is this what they are supposed to do? its disappointing as its such a fab helmet design.

Every single time our 4 year old wears this helmet he gets noticed for it (positively) and often we are stopped to ask where we got it from. So, full marks for being cool and fun. However, after several goes I have still not found a good fit by adjusting the straps. The adjustable parts are very easy to change - the problem is no change really makes it close fitting enough for it to be secure without being too tight, so we have needed to settle for a fit that is slightly on the wobbly side. This is not helped by the bulk of the helmet - being much bigger than it needs to be there is simply too much helmet mass to work with your average new bike rider. Maybe for bigger kids 6+ (?) this excess in size/ fitting well challenge would fade away.

This helmet was bought as a Christmas present to replace an ordinary one, now that Charlie is riding unsupported on two wheels. It fits well and gets admring looks on the ride to school.
