For his fourth studio album Canadian crooner Michael Bublé has headed into the studio with his live band to create an album of…autobiographical love songs. The outcome, according to Bublé, is the "ultimate record about the inevitable roller coaster ride of relationships". It’s true that from the dramatic opening--a great cover of Julie London’s "Cry Me a River"--the album swings like a pendulum between introspective balladry and exuberant pop. As is to be expected with Bublé, he has revamped plenty of classics along the way, tackling evergreens like "Georgia On My Mind", Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" and the Eagles' "Heartache Tonight" with typical aplomb. He also joins contemporary soulsters like diva Sharon Jones (of Dap Kings fame) on "Baby (You’ve Got What It Takes)" and singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith to recreate one of Sexmith’s tunes, the sultry "Whatever It Takes". Bublé’s two self-penned songs fit in well with the overall high standard. The poppy single “Haven’t Met You Yet” is catchy and the folky “Hold On” also helps make Crazy Love yet another quintessential Michael Bublé experience. --Danny McKenna

Amazon.co.uk list this item as comming with the bonus-track Some kind of wonderfull. That's wrong. The CD/DVD combo has the original version of the CD with 13 tracks. So if you want both a DVD and the bonus-track you have to buy both. I guess the record-company doesn't wnat you to have it all in one package.

Micheal Buble has proberbly recorded his best album yet and in doing so has embraced all sections of the record buying public. The voice is perfect whether scaling the heights or singing in his boots and each track is a gold star performance. I could not fault a track because each track has a magic about it that only Buble and the excellant orchestrations encompass. The changes from swinging band and sometimes swinging voices to smooth strings with full orchestra on other tracks. Listen to 'cry me a river' with pounding orchestral opening giving the standard a different dimension. Listen to 'Some king of Wonderful' ( an old Drifter's hit) smooth pop at it's best. I could go on. Do we have to wait another year for another album ?

I received this double CD yesterday and have only listened to it once all the way through, and some of my favourite songs several times - but I can see I'm going to get many hours of pleasure out of it. I've only fairly recently got into Michael's music - it really started when I first heard his version of "Cry Me a River" last year, but I didn't buy the CD at first because I really prefer listening to the radio as a rule - you get the surprise element. However, with that and "Me and Mrs Jones" and all his other frequently played songs, I eventually decided to buy this, and have discovered that there are many great songs on it - in fact I would say the lesser known ones may be better - I like the jazzy ones. "Cry Me a River" is still my favourite at present - but the good thing about this album is, as with the best albums (like Simon and Garfunkel's music, for instance), the more I listen to it the more I know I will discover new favourites as time goes on. He has a really great voice! Love this CD and will treasure it for years to come.

nearly as good as Harry C Junior
This is great album - I think it is nearly as good as Harry Connick Junior at his best - good punchy lyrics and backing music, recommended at the price.
