Amazon.co.uk Review
Perfect for children just getting to the age where they want to draw and colour in, the Crayola First Draw & Do Desk is packed with ideas and materials to keep little minds and fingers busy for hours.
The set includes 24 of Crayola's trademark non-toxic wax crayons and 8 easy clean up colouring pens from Crayola's First range. It's great for introducing toddlers to felt-tip pens, but easily cleaned from hands and faces, (instructions state the ink simply rinses or wipes off most children's skin without soap or scrubbing), the pens are quick-drying, reducing mess and frustration for young artists.
But the real asset in this pack is the drawing desk itself. Bright and colourful, the red sloping desk is easily cleaned, and the 24 slots at the end make a tidy and impressive storage space for crayons. Clip the white plastic texture board into place, and children can do rubbings of bubble, pebble, swirl, scallop and various other effects on the pad of yellow art paper provided. Insert one of the two further texture boards into the middle section of this, and they can produce more rubbings of fish, rockets, stars, butterflies, planets and a whole host of other imaginative cartoon-like drawings that will inspire young minds.
Crayola has also included a "First Fun Activity Book", a good-quality, colourful A5 pamphlet with plenty of ideas on how to make the most of the kit. Simply a lovely set, this is the kind of thing Crayola is well known for: basic, high-quality art materials packaged in a fun, imaginative way. Not suitable for children under three years because of small parts, toddlers and pre-schoolers particularly will love this set, though it is recommended for children up to 8 years old. --Lucie Naylor
