Bought as a Christmas present for our 7 yr old, this was a much anticipated gift. We were a little worried it would not live up to her inflated expectations (after several months of wishing for it, she had pinned a lot of hopes on this). We did not need to worry. It has been used constantly since for all sorts of different craft projects. The lightbox aspect is very effective in aiding tracing of images and has a big enough light area to do quite large images without having to move it around. The projector element is also a lot of fun. The station comes with a little drawer built into the side to keep the projector discs tidy and the discs have many different little images to view - usual stuff: flowers, hearts, animals etc. My daughter has really enjoyed copying the projected images onto her artwork.
If I were to criticise it at all I would say that putting the discs into the projector is fiddly and could have been better designed for a child to insert them. Equally, it is a pain carefully lining up all the discs to put away for storage. It is also a very bulky bit of kit. If you are considering this be aware that you are going to need to store it somewhere - it is big! Fortunately, the overhead projector part folds down (to turn into a light box) which helps a little, but no getting around the fact it is larger than many craft kits/accessories.
