I have just returned this to the store where I bought it. We loved the idea of letting our little one draw without causing lasting damage around the house, so we thought the idea was great. The gel side of the easel works fine. But both sides can be drawn on using the childs fingers, to either make imprints in the gel or dipped in water. However, my son caught the water canvas a few times with his nail and it conpletelt ruined it after 10 minutes. Once scratched, you can't get rid of the line from the drawing when it has dried out. I would have thought that they would have made it a little more durable, esspecially when encouraging children to draw with their fingers!!!!

Overall, great idea but not backed up with durability.

the concept is good but the white side started to disintergrate the first time use , the wet nib of pen needs to come out more because when used it starts to scratch surface, this happened when my 2 yr old and 4 year old used it also it rippled at bottom where it had got wet. overall very disappointed but liked the look of it, maybe i got the dud one.

The box looked enticing, but once we opened the toy it was an anti climax I'm afraid. My daughter didn't show any interest (age 2), except in the egg heads. The gel side is OK I guess, but once there are markings in the gel, it's quite hard to "rub" them away, and it would always need my supervision for this. The magic paper side. Well it never crossed my mind to use a wet finger, as ours came with a felt tip pen, into which you put water. I tried several times to use this pen myself. Water either doesn't come out (an air issue?), or floods out, and is all over too soon. Plastic fantastic I'm afraid. Give me cardboard egg cartons for messy paint and dirty clothes any day compared to this. It says 18months +, but I think it may appeal more to a child who can assert detail ie. older. Sorry Crayola. Wished it was better - this was a gift to our daughter :(

Do not buy under any circumstances. Paper tears and falls apart within days, pen does not hold the water - just splurges out everywhere. Have returned it for a full refund.
