The crayons are a good, chunky size, and small children (ours were 2 and 4) will enjoy the pictures of friendly looking wildlife. Small fingers might need some help detaching the stickers from the sheet, but will find the crayons easy to handle. They're also big enough to not readily get lost down the back of car and plane seats. The cover is sturdy enough to provide a firm backing to colour on, and there are plenty of pages in there for small children to keep busy with. I don't suggest it as the only thing you take on a long journey, because (unless you enjoy the sticking and colouring yourself) there's not much there to engage with your children about (no small stories et cetera), but if you do have children who are good at entertaining themselves and who enjoy colouring (mine do, but only for short periods--the kids who are good at colouring are probably moving on from the sorts of pictures contained here) then this is a good addition to your hand luggage.
