5.0 out of 5 stars Just as I remembered! 29 Jan 2009
I remember having this box of crayons when I was young and have searched high and low to find them for my daughter. 64 bright coloured crayons with fantastic colour names - she loves them like I did!

My children used it in a recipe to make lip gloss and really enjoyed the experience. The fact that the crayons are non-toxic for this purpose is extremely important. When they were younger they had endless hours of fun drawing and colouring with the crayons

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorites of mine as a child... and favorites of mine still today! 28 Dec 2007

Crayons! Crayons are great when you get one of those creative urges and just need to draw. Crayons aren't nearly as messy as markers, and they don't need to be sharpened as often as colored pencils. The best part about crayons, though, is that if you don't have a sharpener you can just peel the paper off and keep drawing.

This Crayola set has always been my personal favorite. 64 classic colors including your basics (red, blue, yellow, etc) AND your favorites (macaroni and cheese, tickle-me-pink, etc). As if getting the crayons isn't enough, they throw in a courtesy sharpener on the back of the box. This sharpener is really handy when you're focused on your current work of art and don't have time to get up and walk to a stationary sharpener.

Another bonus about this box, versus something laughable like RoseArt, is the way the rows of crayons are arranged. They implemented the "stadium seating" feature in this box for quick and efficient switching between colors. You won't find yourself digging around in this box trying to find the rogue crayon that fell sideways along the bottom.

My only complaint with this product is that the crayons are not very sturdy. If you push too hard while trying to emphasize something, like a bald man's head with the "peach" crayon, it just might snap in half under the strain. This can be extremely frustrating, especially if you've already ruined a previous box of crayons in this way.

Also, because the crayons are cylindicular in shape you have to be careful where you set them down. A few of them rolled off my desk the other day and ended up under the couch. I didn't realize this had happened until I began vacuuming the next morning. Tickle-me-pink and Scarlet ended up lodged in the mouth of the vacuum cleaner tube, and it took forever to get them out!

One last concern. Crayola says these crayons are non-toxic, but that does NOT mean they are ok to eat. I know it's hard to resist that macaroni-and-cheese crayon (I'll be honest, I took a bite out of mine), but don't let the name fool you. NONE of these crayons taste like their name.

5.0 out of 5 stars A 64-pack of fun... 24 Mar 2006

With this many crayons, the coloring possibilities are nearly limitless. All the classics are here, like Red, Yellow and Blue...and with 64, this box attacks the continuous optipal spectrum of colors from wavelengths of 380nm (Violet) up through the high end of Red at 740nm. The only thing better was if the folks at Crayola could create ultraviolet or infrared.

These rank low in durability...our 64 pack of crayons multiplied to 128 just one day after purchase...and now we're somewhere at about 300...our son can't get enough of breaking crayons.

Strangely enough, my kid asked for crayons for Christmas. It's not like she doesn't have a million of them in boxes all over the house, she wanted "new ones". What kid doesn't like using a fresh crayon?! Six bucks to make her happy, totally worth it.

Who hasn't had a big box of Crayola's before? Even in my late 20s, I still color..I find it helps with my anxiety. So I ordered these since it was a good price for the 64box and I was already placing an Amazon order.
It's exactly what it should be, nothing more, nothing less.

As always, Crayola delivers their usual superior crayons. I've stopped attempting to use other brands years ago. Great price and array of colors. Recommended!
