Great quality colouring pencils, as you would expect from Crayola. I prefer these to most other pencils and they colour in smoothly, don't rip the paper and sharpen well without snapping.

The Crayola Coloured Pencil (12 Pack) contains 12 pre-sharpened pencils. The range of colours offered is quite good and you get at least 1 pencil for each basic colour ranage. The pencils have a thick, strong lead which makes them suitable for younger children but they still remain soft enough to be layered and blended with each other. Also depending on the pressure when using the pencils you can easily create at least 3 distinctive shades of colour and even more with a more experienced user.
However, on a slightly negative point I would issue a note of warning when sharpening the pencils. Although the pencils have a thick, strong lead, if they are sharpened too much the tip can become fragile and snap. However, if used with a high quality pencil sharpener then this should not become an issue.
Overall, I would strongly recommend this set of Crayola Coloured Pencils to anyone who is looking for a high quality, affordable starter set of pencils, as these Crayola Pencils are suitable for children and amateur artists alike. In my opinion this set would make an excellent starter set of pencils for someone but they could also be used to supplement a larger Crayola Coloured Pencil set, such as Crayola Coloured Pencils (36 Pack), that is running low on the basic colours that are used more often than the more specialized colours contained within the larger sets.
