Biography

A THOUSAND SUNS

We were not making an album.

For months, we'd been destroying and rebuilding our band. The experiments that resulted filled the studio hard drive with diverse, abstract sounds. Amorphous echoes, cacophonous samples, and handmade staccato merged into wandering, elusive melody. Each track felt like a hallucination.

We didn't know if any of those ... Read more in Amazon's Linkin Park Store

5.0 out of 5 stars A amazing single from an incredible band 26 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
'Crawling' is the second single from the absolutly stunning 'Hybrid Theory' from Linkin Park. Chester Bennington's rich vocal change from heavy rock to an absoutly heavenly melodic tune, and although emcee Mike Shinoda has only a small part in the song, it makes the song just that little bit better. None of the songs on 'Hybrid Theory' are bad, and this is no exception. Why are you reading this? Go and buy it now!

Linkin Park provide a break (a much needed one!) from a lot of the trashy 'rock' music which is, sadly, storming the UK charts. "Crawling" features LP's lead singer, Chester Bennington, mixing slow verses with a full on powerful chorus. This creates an explosive, full of anger, song which beats Papa Roach's "Last Resort" by miles, in terms of emotional angst. "Crawling" is taken from the band's debut album "HYBRID THEORY", it is not the best song on the album but is still great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 29 Jan 2004
Format:Audio CD
Crawling is by far the most "pop" of all Linkin Park's singles. It's the most mainstream. Most people you ask on the street will be able to name it, if they can name any Linkin Park songs. Chester's vocals are incredible on it but the song is pretty much a show of what his voice can do and the other band members' parts are sorely negated in the process. A great tune though, if not so representative of Linkin Park generally. Fantastic video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the obvious choice for a next single but.. 3 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I didn't think this would have been the next single as there are better songs on the album eg. pushing me away or forgotten. Having said that, this is still a great tune with a catchy tune and a great chorus.
