When a band sit down and discuss what direction they are going to take with an album there is sometimes a rare occasion when a band will pretty much throw everything that is considered essential for the genre out of the window, this album is one of those occasions.
Atomship have created a completely original album from start to finish, every aspect is perfect, the drumming is amazing.
When this album gets heavy it knocks you down, when it gets melodic it lifts you up and when you finally settle you feel like have are listeing to something special and one of a kind.
If you want to be taken on a musical journey with plenty of double bass buy it now.

Having heard nothing about Atomship until coming across their website by mistake and hearing parts of their songs that are available to listen to I was shocked to find that I instantly grew to their sound and style. While they don't sound a million miles away from the likes of Tool, it certainly isn't a bad thing as Tool are on of the best bands around at the moment.
As for the album, picking a favourite song(s) is difficult as they are all unique and good in their own way but particular stand out tracks are "Withered" and "Agent Orange".
Another reason to purchase this album is that the drummer (Chad Kent) is one of the best drummers emerging from the new bands gradually breaking onto the scene. His extremely fast feat and hands are incredible as are the soaring vocal melodies and layered guitars.
In 2 words, buy it, you won't be disappointed!
You might be asking why have I only given it 4 stars seeing as I clearly like the album and the answer is because I think they can get even better! :D

This album has a host of different styles of songs which are all great.
Songs like Pencil Fight & Whitfield show the skill of this band. there are some traditional hard rock songs and some mellow ones. The lyrics are wierd but this just adds to the greatnes of this album.
This album is worth getting and will complete any collecton and hopefully they will have more to follow.

I brought this album randomly and well it proved to be a good random choice - think tool, but slightly mellower.. that pretty much somes up to me what this band are like. Although not in the same league as tool (yet anyhow), for a debut album this is superb.

definately worth a listen, but beware you may end up hooked :)

This album is amazing, I always listen to it and never get bored, there's so much going on in each song, the music is incredible and the vocals are stunning. It's a shame Joey left the band, I would have loved to have seen what direction they would have gone, they were a truly a unique band, and now lost forever. Shame. :(
