5.0 out of 5 stars Another Lori triumph" 4 May 2013

This is the 3rd of Lori's "Stop the wedding" trilogy. All three books involve 3 different men who are traveling with the intent of stopping the SAME wedding in Key West --1 by car (book 1), the second by boat, and the 3rd book by air. Instead of stopping the wedding, each man finds his soulmate along the journey and then wish the bride and groom well--now they hav each found true love of

While I love all three books, I enjoyed this book the best. The billionaire hero really does not care about things--he hopes to someday find a woman who will love him for who he is, and not for what he has, and in this book he does. The journey involves a plane crash (forced landing on a beach with a beautiful native woman on a deserted tropical island--except for the orchid thieves. He has been watching her for awhile, but she thinks he is the typical beautiful shallow rich person--she realizes who he is during their few days being marooned. They have one magnificent love Session before the orchid smugglers arrive. He then gives up his most prized (not because of its high value, but the sentimental value) possesion to allow her to repair the plane so they can fly off the island. While they are missing, he loses multi-millions of dollars on his current project. But when he finds his true love, he reverts to his true love job, which allows him to work from home where he can spend most of his time loving his new wife and children in a tropical paradise!

Lori is one of my top 5 writers (none are ranked--I love them equally). She never disappoints! And this easy read series is among my favorite of her series books! Read them in order, although each can stand alone, you will enjoy them more read in order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome read! 3 May 2013

When a book makes you teary eyed as the hero realizes his love for the heroine as GIBB did with Sophie and opened himself up past his fears for her... you know you're reading an outstanding book. Late for the wedding is a terrific concept ans series, but then I shouldn't be surprised. It is by Lori Wilde, one of THE most consistently awesome romance authors out there.

Crash Landing is exactly what you want: a sexy stranded on island romance full of Sun, fun, and even a little adventure. Loved it!

It's been quite a while since I've read a book that I just didn't like. Unfortunately, I found one more. But just because I didn't like doesn't mean that you won't. So with that in mind, let's check out Crash Landing by Lori Wilde.

The first character we meet is Sophia. I tried really hard to like her, I did. In theory, she sounds like my kind of heroine. She's a pilot and owns her own business. She flies tourists on and off the island where she lives since it's only accessible by small bush planes. She loves flying and she truly appreciates that she gets to do what she loves for a living. She also seems to be a genuinely happy person and enjoys living on the island where she grew up and enjoys having family around. What's not to like? But she also seemed really shallow, too. Like, she saw this hot guy on a balcony and she gets up out of the hammock she was laying in and seductively stretched and tossed her hair around and I just thought it was a little over the top. It made her seem...kind of bitchy and full of herself. But that was just the very beginning...

The hot guy on the balcony happened to be Gibb Martin, a billionaire venture capitalist type. He's come to the island because he's been the victim of corporate espionage with people stealing his ideas and getting them to market before he can. But here, on the island, no one can get near without it being noticed. Everything changes, though, when Gibb gets a phone call informing him that his best friend intends to marry someone that he's only known for about a month. Gibb wants to save his friend from a mistake so he tasks Sophia with flying him to Miami. I liked Gibb. He's worked like a dog to make his money and to get where he is. Even though he's already done so much, he's STILL working hard. Also, he clearly loves his friends and is willing to do some crazy stuff to try and protect them. Having said that, I don't know that we get a really clear picture of exactly who Gibb is before he and Sophia get together.

Gibb and Sophia are hot together but would you expect anything less? But I never found myself rooting for them to get together. When Sophia finds out what Gibb's super secret project is, she throws a fit because it could potentially put her out of business... years down the line. And then when Gibb tries to make her feel better by giving her some possible solutions if she did lose too much business, she throws another fit saying that he's trying to throw money at a problem like always. Like always? Because she's known him so long?? It just solidified my opinion that Sophia was shallow. Nevermind the fact that Gibb's plan will be a benefit to the environment and a benefit for the island in general (by boosting tourism, the island's main source of income). No, all that matters is how it affects Sophia personally. Sure, she sees that her initial reaction was not a good one and she tries to see the benefits but for me, it was too late. Then it got weird for me when Sophia sees Gibb pleasuring himself in a waterfall and she starts pleasuring herself too. Huh? Maybe it would have been hot if I had liked these two characters more, but I didn't particularly like them so it just seemed a little ridiculous. I mean, hey, who am I to tell someone to NOT touch their own naughty bits?! But that scene was just too much.

I hate to give ANY book a low rating because all of this is so subjective. Just because I don't like it... what the heck do I know?? Most days, I'm happy if I have matching socks on, ya know what I mean? If I love a book, I'll scream it from a mountaintop and I'll bug your ass until you try it. But if I don't love a book, I like to quietly just return it to the library or delete it off my Kindle.

I, for one, did not like this book and would not recommend it but don't just take my word for it. Feel free to read it and tell me what you DID like about it!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A zany adventure. 23 May 2013

This book made me laugh so hard. Lori Wilde takes us one a wild zany adventure after another. Sophia is pilot that runs charter flights in and out of the resort town of Bosque de Los Dioses, where the rich and famous comes to play or just to relax. Her life hasn't been an easy one, but she happy doing what she does for a living. She's also a romantic at heart, just like her own mother was until she died when Sophia was 12 yrs old. She sees things a lot different than her siblings do, too. She's not willing to just get married to someone because they'd make a good husband and father to her children. No...she wants it all; the passion, that deep love between two soul mates, a equal partnership, and most of all...respect. She's never been the type of person to stand back and wait for what she wants, she jumps in with both feet. She might be small in stature, but she smart, funny, and very, very feisty. The first time she lays her eyes on the billionaire Gibb Martin, she is so smitten with him. From that moment on she finds herself thinking of no one else, but him.

Gibb Martin is on the island with a secret mission. He's not willing to tell anyone about the project he's been working on, because after having two other projects stolen out from under his nose, he trusts no one but his long time best friend, Scott. Scott works for the Coast Guard and is suppose to be joining him there very shortly. But that was before Gibb receives a call from him, stating that he's suddenly fallen in love and has decided to get married at the end of the week. He also tells him that he's plans to re-up with the Coast Guard, right after his honeymoon. Gibb is against marriage, he feels marriage ruins all your well laid plain. He's convinced Scott is making a big mistake, and he'll do anything to try to stop him from doing just that.

That's where he pays Sophia a boat load of money to fly him to Florida, in order to stop the wedding. To bad things don't always work out the way we plan them. Because this wild ride starts off with a plane crash, on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. But that's only the tip of the iceberg for these two. They run into way more than either of them could have ever imagined.

Would I recommend this book? Yes! This was so much fun to read.
