4.0 out of 5 stars Herrrre comes your meaaaaan... 1 Jun 2004
By Mr H.
Format:Audio CD
What a great bunch of songs this is. although the term 'indie' is a rather vague concept this album manages to cherry pick pretty much the best under that umbrella. The Libertine's raw, punky take to the genre kicks off the album superbly (I definatley reccomend checking out Up the bracket). 'Don't look back into the sun' is the embodiment of the way i feel indie is heading at the moment, fresh, raw and fun.
The Pixies( and Kim Deal's breeders) give the album a fresh west coast feel ) whilst There she goes brings me back to drunken sixth form friday nights about fifteen years ago.
The second disk is arguably weaker than the first, and i suppose I might not be the only one asking why paranoid android isn't in here!!!??
Overall a good album for those just getting into this genre and a nice restbite from modern angsty jank schmaltz such as linkin biscuit.
