The book gives a great overview of the symptoms of trauma and how to work with trauma. It can be useful for other cases of trauma than auto accidents and useful for people interested in the type of therapy called somatic experiencing. Many useful expercises for getting in touch with the body and so on

Crash Course: A Self-Healing Guide to Auto Accident Trauma a 23 Jun. 2002
By Janet Altman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is very well written and informative for helping anyone recovering from an auto accident. There are lots of useful examples and practical exercises for people to refer to. I've given Crash Course to several of my friends and they were able to use it effectively to support their healing process. I recommend it to anyone suffering from any type of trauma.

A tremendous resource . . . 18 Mar. 2002
By Nancy J. Napier - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I am enormously enthusiastic about this book!  In Crash Course, Diane and Laurence Heller offer more than a powerful and effective approach to healing from the trauma of auto accidents.  They also contribute a significant self-help resource to people who have gone through trauma of any kind.  The wisdom in this book, and its practical applications - including an important emphasis on accessing and strengthening resources - invites readers to take an active and empowering role in recovering from current or past trauma.  I have recommended Crash Course to my clients as a valuable support in their healing journeys.

AAA Should Be Distributing This Book 29 Aug. 2002
By Dr. Michael Picucci - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Every one who drives should know about the possible effect of Auto Accident Trauma. The Hellers did a brilliant job of bringing cutting edge trauma symptom resolution to what has been very mysterious and elusive in the past. This book breaks new ground. If you've ever been in a serious auto accident, please read this book, make it a gift to yourself. It can reduce suffering and be a facinating read at the same time.

Crash Course: A Self-Healing Guide to Auto Accident Trauma a 16 Jan. 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book provides practical and powerful information about the process of healing trauma. Dr. Diane Heller's focus is auto accident recovery, but the exercises explained in the book could be used to recover from trauma of any kind. The use of analogy and the author's clear writing make this book easy to understand and to use. Though debilitating, the symptoms of trauma can sometimes be subtle and hard to recognize as being related to the traumatic experience. It is good there is a book available that can help people recognize their symptoms and help heal them in a gentle, compassionate and effective way. Dr. Heller's methodology is unlike psychotherapy which requires the patient to re-experience the trauma by repeatedly re-telling the story. She has developed a profoundly effective method which heals without retraumatizing. I highly recommend this book - it can ONLY help.

A powerful tool 23 July 2002
By Dick and Avadhan Larson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
We found this book extremely useful in a practical day-to-day manner. Offering clear and direct instructions on what to do, and when and how to do it, Crash Course leads one through the healing process in a way never available to the public before. The simplicity and yet power of this book, and its ability to help one enact positive (and not re-traumatizing) change makes it a treasure for anyone who has been in an automobile accident.
