Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

It's tempting to label the Dave Matthews Band as torchbearers of the Grateful Dead's moderate rock fusion and send them off on the next summer tour featuring either Blues Traveler or the Spin Doctors. But there is more at work here, particularly on the band's second major-label release. Crash pairs soothing sounds (flute, acoustic guitar, six-string bass) with a dark emotional undercurrent. The South African (by way of Virginia) frontman reveals a rare intensity on the title track and the free-form "41", while the group shows that it's not afraid to let loose on songs such as the stirring "Too Much". Producer Steve Lillywhite adds an impressive sheen to the recordings. --Aidin Vaziri

If you're new to Dave Matthews Band and want to listen to some more of his music - you've got a problem --- there are a lot of albums to choose from!! I'd certainly recommend 'Crash' - a diverse combination of rock, pop, soul, jazz, culminating in one of DMB's finest releases: 'Crash'. Absolutely my favourite Dave Matthews song ever is on this album, '#41' - what a great song, with passionate lyrics, and an excellent instrumental lead in to the next song 'Say Goodbye'. 'Two Step' and 'So Much To Say' are my two other fav's on the album. Once you've bought this album, along with 'Under The Table and Dreaming', you'll have started your DMB collection in style. Now all you need to do is see them live - it's mind blowing!!!!!

This is an excellent record. It has all the qualities the made UNDER THE TABLE AND DREAMING a perfectly exceptable folk rock album, but the band have also thrown in a lot more Jazz and a much more developed sound to their guitar work.
CRASH INTO ME picks up the themes of PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET and LOVER LAY DOWN, the result is a near perfect love song.
Also check out SO MUCH TO SAY and DRIVE IN DRIVE OUT.
The guitars are a lot heavier and the vocals are stronger and more scorching than they've been on other their other stuff.
Maybe one of the best reconds ever made. Buy it.

DMB really show their Jazz roots with this outstanding recording. The only way to sum up their work is that Dave must come up with some wacky melody, and a guitar riff that doesn't quite fit. The other musicians come up with riffs that also don't quite fit. Then Carter Beauford manages to hold everything together with the most exceptional drumming in contemporary music. Altogether, the sound is unbelievable. I cannot more highly recommend a contemporary band: if you like good music, you are guaranteed to like DMB.

In excellent conditions, but I believe it to be little bit overpriced. However, I don't mind paying for an album like this one. Five stars review. Thanks
