More About the Author

I'm a writer, musician and man. I've written weekly columns on various topics for The Independent for ten years or so; I currently write the "Geek Mythology" technology column on Thursdays, and a column about Interesting Objects for the Saturday magazine. And features about things like crumpets, drum machines, thrifty shopping, pleasures and irritants.

I've lost count of the number of unsuccessful bands I've been in over the last 25 years, but these days I play with Scritti Politti, Prescott, xMan Diamondx and a TV theme tune function band called Dream Themes.

I enjoy light admin.

A collection of short descriptions of really bad date from both sexes point of view. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit short but at the bargain price of £1.50 (at time of listing) well worth it for some great laughs. Really makes my (few) bad dates look tame in comparison!

Wow, if there are THIS many nutters out on the dating scene, proportionally there are far more genuinely weird or unpleasant people around than I had ever suspected.

It's hilarious but also, when you stop and think, really quite disturbing!

Very prompt delivery and in perfect condition as expected. However, the humour is a little crude and basic and therefore not as funny as I'd anticipated... My fault though as the clues were in the title!

I did think that twitter tag was very funny, but the actual book isn't brilliant. I would guess it was put together rather quickly, and I'm not sure that a whole book of tweets works very well.

A very amusing read with many laugh out loud stories! Unfortunately the read was over far too quickly. The idea that provided the material in the book was both simple and genius!

Imagine my surprise when I opened this book to discover a reference to my dear friend Sebastian (who is rudely described as 'a wooden pet giraffe'). I would like to take this opportunity to point out to readers that Sebastian is not a 'pet', he is a 'life companion', and that the frightful woman who made reference to him in this tacky volume was considerably more wooden than he is.
