If, like me, you love the kind of interiors/crafty things that Martha does so well, you'll love this book. Impossibly beautiful, it makes you wish you really had the kind of lifestyle where you could spend hours making a cranberry wreath. As ever, the photography is stunning, and even if you don't end up doing any of the projects, there's enough in the way of beautiful images that you should at least feel like you've looked at a beautiful picture book. Most projects are impractical if you're a normal person with a life, but they're so damned aspirational that I have somehow found myself reading instructions on how to glue 360 different-sized beads to a ribbon-covered hoop in order to make the most beautiful wreath I think I've ever seen. I'm going to do it for Christmas if it kills me! Okay, so your friends will tease you about being totally anal (as mine tease me), but hey - my life is not too short to stuff a cranberry! Worth noting that some projects have already appeared in Martha Stewart Living, so not everything is new. Gorgeous nonetheless, though!

I love crafting decorations and gifts, especially during the Holidays, and Martha Stewart is definitely the best when it comes to crafting ideas. This lovely 1999 book is a wonderful source of inspiration, with fantastic ideas for Christmas themed crafts and keepsakes. It includes ideas for lovely wreaths, ornaments, stockings, cards, personalised gifts, and even some great home cooked gift ideas. Also, it has some great ideas for repurposing cherished items, like old sweaters and old Christmas cards. I have already made several projects from this book with great success, my personal favorite being the Heirloom Stockings made of old sweaters, and I cannot wait to make lovely ornaments for my Christmas tree, from all those cards from friends and family, that have been stashed in a drawer for years.

This is not one of Martha Stewart's most recent publications, but I found it very interesting and not at all dated. Although I have to admit that most projects can be found on Martha Stewart's web site, this is still a beautiful book with excellent crafts, sufficient instructions and useful templates.

I don't know if it's Martha at her best, but I do know that it's NOT the best book on the subject. OK ,the layout is cute and everything ,however, wrapping presents in ribbons or making silly little things out of cards is childish!! Some recipies are nice but you'll need more butter than mentioned in some of them. It wouldn't have been such a bad book, if the price was lower. If you are looking for a book with good decorating ideas or menus and recipies, then it's not the book for you. If you're looking for ways to create small gifts for friends ,try another book . If you like Martha's style then it might be OK.
It does have a nice cover, though.
