The technique of paper cutting is easy. Landscapes, trees, flowers, birds, butterflies and animals are produced by just folding and cutting the paper. Images can be as simple or as intricate as one likes. Miniatures and fairy tale characters are portrayed by cutting them out and framing them. Designs for portraits and caricatures offer many possibilities - copy these motifs and practise the technique, then impress others by creating their likenesses. A nice book with easy to follow instructions which explains different paper cutting techniques including silhouette, keyhole cutting, repeat pattern cuts and negative paper cutting. The book is full of projects and ideas for all levels of ability, ranging from small bookmarks to whole pictures. There are some lovely paper cuts designed for children to enjoy and some excellent ideas for gifts for all the family. The book includes a sheet full of templates used for the projects. All-in-all, simple ideas with very pleasing results.
