What a dissapointment The story is completely linear and without twist or suspense, the characters are one dimensional and formulaic and the ending is not a twist - it is an after thought.
The use of the dying wife and 10 children to provide emotional content adds nothing to the story, indeed it does not even really intrude into the main story at all, no dramatic tension is brought and frankly I found the manipulative way in which it is written to be insulting.

Really good value, the book is a great read.can't put it down, started to read it. Straight away and I'm now nearly finished, can't wait to.read.the next one.

I am really suprised by the negative reviews. I was recommended this book by a friend and although at first i was a bit dubious as i am normally a chick lit lover i was thoroughly engrossed from the first page and sped through it in a couple of days. I look forward to reading the 6th Target which has also been recommended.
