The first Jeevas Album (1234) was a step away from the mystic indian influences but a step toward some fantastic guitar !!
This Album would not be misaken for having many Kula Shaker similarities
This album stands alone and I'm listening to it more and more with tunes which have me smiling as I work to work.
In a way it's a shame that I know that so few people will truely appeciate that rare fruits in the current music areana.
But I suggest you appeciate this
Having seen them live in 2000 I brought their debut album 1234 and thought it was fantastic, so I was pleased to see that they could release a follow up that was even better.
The stand out tracks on this album are the Libertines esque 'Way you carry on', the lovely acoustic ballad 'Back home' and 'Can't keep a good man down' a good ol' rocky number with a hint of Kings of Leon's 'Molly's Chambers'.
All in all a great album that betters the first great album. What more can I say?
You can not help but stop what you are doing and listen to this CD, 'How Much Do You suck?' is bound to raise a smile, and 'Black and Blue' is compulsive forget yourself and leap around the room like a fool music. 'Stoned Love' will rock your socks!
Joining up with Andy Nixon(drums) and Dan Mckinna(bass) was a good move as the band are sooooo tight and so talented, and share a sense of fun which shines through in their music. Not many of todays bands are as original and fresh as The Jeevas.
See them live and they will happily mingle with fans after the gig! Basically they love what they do, they are a REAL band, going back to how things used to be years back, not afraid to play live, and not above chatting to fans. If you enjoy hearing a band enjoying themselves and playing for the sheer joy of making music then this is the CD for you.
Well worth a listen and a great bonus to any cd collection...BUY IT!
