Bought 1 of these but could not get it to work with my Sigma EF-500 DG ST Flashgun/Canon EOS 40D combination. Returned it and purchased another and had the same problem. The receiver LED flahes when shutter pressed but will not fire gun. Sent that back as well.

I purchased these to do some smoke photo's and they are very good. Used them with my Nikon D3000 and apart from a few misfires which were down to me not waiting for the flash to charge, they are fine. I am going to get another slave unit to go with these so I can fire two flash guns for another project I am setting up. Good price a well

The cowboy studio NPT-04 wireless trigger & receiver works out of the box.

The trigger has a battery already installed, so not sure how that can be replaced if it goes. You will need x2 AAA for the receiver, make sure you turn off the receiver after you have finished as it will drain the AAA batteries, done this twice now!

I am new to off camera flash photography, so purchased a YN560 flash and this wireless set and it works with my canon 7D. I have another flash form a film DSLR thats ancient, so i tried the wireless on that & then set my YN560 to slave, and it worked beautifully. So if you think about it you can just make do with any old flash to trigger several others that have a slave mode, and get by with just the one receiver.

I just wanted to use an old fashion flashgun on my Nikon SLR D40X while not harming my camera by a direct contact to an unknown flshgun that I do not know about its firing voltage, so I oredered a cowboystudio NPT-04 wireless hot shoe and transmitter. It was a fast delivery and I received my purchase within 3 working days at no postage cost. I put the transmitter on the camera directly from the box and the flashgun well mounted on the hot shoe . There was no green light on the transmitter flashing (probably the light is not working) but the transmitter managed to fire the flashgun. Any way and that's what I wanted. I guess I am going to keep this as it is worth for the price.

I got this to use with my Canon 5d Mk3 and Canon 580EX Speedlight. Works a treat! Just remember that you can't use TTL on it and just dial in the power in Manual Mode. a flash meter would work wonders with this.
I am really pleased that I can use this with my old film cameras that don't have hot shoes. Just connect the PC cable and off you go.
For £18 you can't go wrong. Look how much a genuine pocket wizzard is!!!!!
