Product Description

Book Description

The New Covent Garden Food Company was founded in 1988 to make homemade quality soup using entirely natural ingredients, and despite many imitators over the past eighteen years New Covent Garden are still the bestsellers in the fresh soup market. This enduring popularity is a result of New Covent Garden's continuous passion for fresh soup, which they expound as the ultimate, easy-to-make, healthy, delicious meal. Soup and Beyond is New Covent Garden's second book, now reissued with a new cover that reflects the company's latest branding, and this time they have not stopped at just soups. Alongside over fifty new soup recipes, readers will find an exciting range of bean dishes - including home-made baked beans, dal, Israeli falafel and many more - together with a fantastic selection of breads and other garnishes which add a new layer of flavour, texture, substance and colour, and contribute to a wonderful mealtime experience.

About the Author

The New Covent Food Company was established in 1988 to bring quality, homemade soup onto the shelves of our supermarkets. They remain the leading brand in fresh soup.

Like the first one, this is a book I couldn't live without. The recipes are just as delicious and easy as before, only this time you'll also find some for beans and breads. My favourite is "Bean and Spelt Soup", which is also great, if you've got to feed someone allergic to wheat. I tried a lot of the other recipes, too and they were all winners. I can only recommend it!

Saw my daughter using this book whilst staying with her a few weeks ago. I flicked through it and was instantly impressed by the recipes. Using pretty straight forward ingredients and adding an unusual twist some great tastes were created. Bought the book as soon as I came home and ,having made several of the soups, I can definitely confirm my first impressions were right. The food tastes great and you don't have to be a michelin-starred chef to make it. Just go for it.

I absolutely love this book - what a fantastic accompaniment to the soups. My favourite recipe is the falafel. Having tried several recipes and failed, this is The One. Buy it, buy it, buy it!

There are some very unusual recipes in this book, and of the ones I've tried, rather tasty. The problem with some of the recipes is that the title/ingredients are slightly unusual in their combinations, and you're not 100% it's going to be good. But once you've got over that hurdle, they are worth trying, and opens your eyes, and taste-buds, to some unusual treats.

Rather disappointing, this was an impulse buy after finding a soup for every day which is breath takingly good in our local supermarket. The quality of the book however is superb like all of the Covent garden range but the recipes for my taste were not as interesting.
If I'd seen it in a shop and flicked through it, I would of put it down again.
That said it wasn't particularly expensive just not to my taste.

The actual book was of very high speck. The contents I found to be good but a lot of the receipes needed many many contents I did not have or would rarely use again, not for the plain cook like myself. I thought from other reviews I was buying a book full of faily easy receipes that you could knock up from left over veggies and bits in your cupboard I have yet to make one of the soups.

I was looking for a soup book and came across this one, having bought the covent garden soups from stores and been happy with them I thought this was worth a shot. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I like that it has things other than soups in it too. I am hoping to buy the rest of the covent garden recipe books in the future.
