As with her first in the Gresham Chronicles, Lawana Balckwell keeps your attention and satisfies your questions! I enjoy how she weaves the characters lives together and how she flows smoothly from one scene to another. She keeps all the characters fresh in your mind...no going back to see "now who was that?", and doesn't dwell so long on one scene or charatcer that you lose intest in another. Great job of creating strong characters who compliment not compete againt each other. Can't wait for number 3!

IGood plot, good characters and encouraging Christian ethos. If this had been set in the US I would have loved it. Sadly as a Brit I was so put off by the American language, thought patterns and social attitudes that it was spoiled for me. She seems to have little grasp of the Church of England and less of the British education system, so why try to write about them?

Lawana Blackwell kept me glued to my seat throughout all 400 pages of the "Courtship of the Vicar's Daughter." Why? There really was no fast-paced plot. I think that the reason I couldn't put this book down was because of the way Blackwell made her characters come alive for me. I honestly felt like I was personally acquainted with the citizens of Gresham. Despite the several weddings that take place throughout the story, the book isn't a sappy romance. Instead, Blackwell delivers a powerful message of salvation that will stir the hearts of her readers.

Reading this book is like reading a letter fromhome. Ms. Blackwell really makes you feel attachedto her characters and you can't wait to see whathappens to them next. She also expertly weavesthe message of God's love and grace to us throughout the story. I am so glad to have found anotherauthor to read and am looking forward to Book 3in the series.

As the second book in the Gresham Chronicles I was hoping that the characters and storyline from the first book would be continued and developed. I was not disappointed An excellent book.
