I will not go into a long description of this story because sometimes it's better to find out for one's self and this is such a time. This book is one of the best reads I have had in a long time, at no time did this book bore me like a lot of historical novels do. The two authors wrote this book really well together I don't know if they each took a woman and merged the stories together or if they wrote the whole story together, but which ever it was they work very well together and I hope they do another book like this one.
The two woman's stories ran side by side, the modern woman learning from the older woman's experiences and lessons.
This book had me sad, happy and crying from page to page,not only in sadness but also in happiness (yes they do both have happy endings).
Even if you like me are not a fan of historical novels give this one a go, I lent this to my sister and she finished it in three days where it normally takes her at least a week even with an interesting read.
Very very good story.

After reading 'Cherry on top', i wanted to read more of susan donovan's books but this one wasn't for me. It is very detailed about a woman training to be a prostitute. I stopped reading it halfway through.

I have loved Celeste Bradley's historicals since I picked up one of her Heiress Brides books last year and proceeded to devour each and every one of her other books. I have been looking forward to this since it was announced. It did not disappoint!

I haven't read any other books by Susan Donovan (I have been firmly ensconced in hisorical fiction mode lately) but having read this I intend to seek out more of her writing.

The modern plot was refreshingly fun with a protagonist who reminds me of myself ;-)
And the Historical was witty and erotic and sexy as all hell.

I devoured it in a day, and have reread it several times since getting it.

I see on Celeste's Blog that they intend to write a sequel - I cannot wait!
