A group of police officers in a small Southern town form a tight bond of friendship both on and off the job. Together with their new pal, a struggling construction worker, they resolve to become better fathers after one of them suffers a tragic loss.
I was very impressed by this movie which is all about men having the courage to do the right thing for their families and their jobs, as well. Most of the actors are non-professionals and members of the same church; they are uniformly excellent. The script is well-written with intense drama and a few light-hearted moments as well. We get to know and care about each of the men as they deal with loss, unemployment, gangs, whistle-blowing at work, and above all, their wives and children.
This is an inspiring movie that moved me to tears many times. If you liked, "Fireproof" (produced by the same church), you will love the exciting and uplifting, "Courageous." Recommended.
