5.0 out of 5 stars Epic Dragonlance Story, 15 May 2011
By
Antonis Polioudakis "Zero" (Greece) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Price of Courage (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) (Age of Mortals Campaign, Volume 3) (Paperback)
The Price of Courage is the finale to the most exciting and epic story of Krynn that I have lived through.
After 17 years of role-playing, I can say with certainty that this story is one of the best.
A lot of information on the world, a lot of player interaction with the major events and players of Ansalon, a great opportunity to take characters from 1st to 21+ levels and go through a story that REALLY matters.
Anyone who has read or played Dragonlance will agree that, in the past, all the major events were done by ... well someone else. Heroes of the Lance, Heroes of the Heart etc...
This time it's the Player Characters that actually do all the work that matters AND get the credit for it.
All in all, this trilogy is worth it!!!
Also, for those of "unconventional" choices, this adventure can also be played with an Evil aligned party. True, it might not be the same feeling, but it can be done (the preliminary work is there).
A big thank you to Cam Banks. This thing is..EPIC!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best D&D adventure modules ever, 20 May 2009
By Antonis Polioudakis "Zero" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Price of Courage (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) (Age of Mortals Campaign, Volume 3) (Paperback)
I have been a Role player for 15 years and I have played a varied range of games and modules.
The Dragonlance trilogy is one of the best modules I have seen and the last part (Price of Courage) takes the cake.
Many varied options, chances for heroic gaming (perfectly in Dragonlance character and scope) and a great scenario.
The writers did a good job trying to predict all possible outcomes and decisions that will be made. They also give a lot of info about many places that were otherwise unknown in Dragonlance (no spoilers).
Players will have a chance to actually use their non-combat skills as there are many solutions to various problems and issues.
Additionally the whole adventure is paced very well in respect to leveling and opponent strengths.
None will get bored because they got some extra XP somewhere along the line (trust me!)
There are some minor rule glitches (especially with character stats) but they can be worked out fine.
The other thing is that it's not recommended for beginning players because of complexity and seer volume of info.
All in all it's a 5 star for me.
Great work and I hope someone keeps it up. The game needs adventures like this!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Final Fight Against Gellidus, 25 Aug 2008
By Leonardo Gruber - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Price of Courage (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) (Age of Mortals Campaign, Volume 3) (Paperback)
In this great adventure (almost gigantic adventure), the players finally understands who is the final enemy, one of the Dragons Overlords who dominated Krynn in the beginning of the 5th age. In a perfect conclusion, we also see what happens to one of the Heroes of the Lance (a sad end, at last, in my home game).
There is adventure enough for a year or more in this final part of "Age of Mortals", and even DMs who doesnt like prefab adventures will find that there is much to "inspire" in the news things (like something that will have great impact on my campaing, the "allomanya").
To be a perfect, could come with maps in more pratical handouts (altought you could just coppy the maps, to avoid damaging the book).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great GAME, story, and campaign, 18 May 2007
By A. Fioritto - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Price of Courage (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) (Age of Mortals Campaign, Volume 3) (Paperback)
This product rocks in every way. It gives plenty of outside opportunities to expand on for future play. It works well as a series or short adventures or long adventures. It follows and builds well on the best fantasy world there is (in my opinion) keeping to the theme and feel. For pure gaming, it is easy to use and follow and is not confusing. Better than Castle Ravenloft or the Fantastic Locations BY FAR. My favorite module from 1st, 2nd, or 3rd edition. THANKS!!
