I very much enjoyed listening to this compilation - we have some classic country western songs interspersed with the odd heavier southern rock number which are mostly established bands covering other classics.

The highlight of the album is Molly Hatchet's (with Charlie Daniels on vocals) gargantuam cover of Skynyrd's classic Free Bird; worthy of the price of the album alone.

Sharp Dressed Man by Sky Saxon: You Wanted ZZ Top? 20 Jan. 2009

Nine bucks for like 378 minutes of (pretty) good music. What's the beef here? Who's here: Kenny Rogers, Lynn Anderson, Johnny Paycheck, Mickey Gilley, Boxcar Willie, George Thorogood and list goes on. 101 tracks to work with but there are a few 'Who the H*** was that?' Sky Saxon anyone!

Having a copy of Purple People Eater by George Thorogood is fun..right! You have some live tracks that weren't mic and mix to badly either. I assume allot of these tunes are re-records by the original artist and done well but again some songs like 'Cool Change' by the Little River Band may have had one member from the band...just wish it was the one that could sing!

It'll never been the best album out there but a 9 dollar investment here is better than a 9 dollar movie you'll probably hate in the long run.

Covers by no-name artitsts 27 Dec. 2008
By Nicodemus - Published on Amazon.com
Don't be fooled!!! It's 101 tracks for only $8.99 for a reason. These recordings aren't performed by the artists it lists. Listen to the previews. That is NOT Great White singing. I got burnt by one of these compilations at Wal-Mart once. I suspect the Southern All-Stars did all of them. The compilation I had gotten had "as performed by: The All-Star Players" written really small along the edge, not near any other text, and in a color that didn't contrast much to the background. All planned, I'm sure, so that you don't notice that it's not those artists.

Not the original artists... 13 Jun. 2009

Even less than a buck for one song off of this is a waste of money... One thing though, the covers are very, very close.
