5.0 out of 5 stars Counting Down the Days - Natalie at her Best 26 July 2005
Format:Audio CD
Counting Down the Days "CDTD" is an obvious choice for a hit single from Natalie.
In fact, I prefer this song and would have chosen it over "Shiver". It's a powerful, thought provoking song about long-distance love, it's got a great melody and the piano and vocals are fantastic. I think as an acoustic song (just guitar and Natalie's vocals) it would be as great, if not better.
In real life Natalie is married to an Australian guy named Daniel Johns who spends most of his time (due to his successful career) as the front man of Aussie band Silverchair and his new side project The Dissociatives in Australia, whereas Natalie's base for her career is in England.
It must be very hard to carry on a relationship/marriage from such a long way away, so this song is heartfelt and at times teary. She's "Counting Down the Days" until she sees him and then one day decides to jack it in and surprise him.
I'm quoting lyrics from the song: "I wanna travel through time, see your surprise, hold you so tight, I'm Counting Down the Days, tonight I just want to be a million miles away from here
- I'm Counting Down the Days!"
I wouldn't be surprised if this song makes Top 5 and this single generates more album sales. "Counting Down the Days" is one of Natalie's best albums because its heartfelt (she's becoming a confident songwriter) and seeing as she's released 3 albums I feel this one is the best so far.
"Left of the Middle" (the first album) was a hit success story, "White Lilies Island" although also personal it was at a cross-roads in her personal life and seems very dark and moody because her and Daniel didn't think they could keep a relationship going from the great distance (him in Australia and her in England). "Counting Down the Days" is uplifting and overall this album has fantastic clear vocals, a great mix of songs and I would highly recommend it.
If you like Natalie's other material this album won't disappoint!

5.0 out of 5 stars Counting Down the Days is Natalie at her Best 23 July 2005
Format:Audio CD
I knew that this would be the 2nd single, its an obvious choice but I think I would have chosen it as the first single.
I love Counting Down the Days and this being the title track it really is what an album is all about and the video is just as great as the song. Natalie has bought us a fantastic album with CDTD and other outstanding tracks are "Satisfied", Slow Down", "Sanctuary" and "Come on Home". I think this is her best album since "Left of the Middle" although I also liked "White Lilies Island" I felt that it was a little too dark and it must have been at a time she was worried about what people would think of her second offering and comparing it to "Left of the Middle". Nat needn't worry because her dedicated fans would buy a album from her even if it was "rock metal". I see Nat as an outstanding Actress and a very successful solo singer and I hope she will tour in 2006 because I'd love to see her live.
That is the only thing I would say is that a lot of artists today with great albums aren't touring, live tours is what its all about and people come out of curiousity or to accompany a friend and end up enjoying it tremendously and go and buy all the albums. Nat is missing out on an important part of her career by not touring but I'm sure its high on her list for the near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Single 10 May 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a brilliant single with a great B-side. I think Amazon made a mistake by using the cover for CD2. The actual cover is the one with CDTD in a yellow coloured font
