Product Description

Product Description

Dara can't sleep. Dad suggests they count sheep. But Dara doesn't like sheep, she likes cows. So they count cows. Try as he might, though, Dad just can't get Dara's cows to jump the fence, mostly because one very lively, mischievous cow isn't ready.

good bedtime story 11 Oct 2003
By Rose Green - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My kids really like this one, and so do I. It's fun to read aloud, and the relationship between wide-awake and far-too-creative-Dara and her oh-so-tired-father is well-drawn. The father comes off as patient and loving despite being obviously frustrated. Dara, who can't keep her mind on boring herself to sleep counting sheep (she'd rather count cows; she doesn't like sheep), is funny in a way that parents with small children have seen only too often at bedtime. You'll like it!
