I've always loved watching Countdown, but now after reading this book, co-written by the shows producers, i love it even more.
We are taken on a journey through the day in the life of a contestant and a producer - and the humourous approach makes for very addictive reading. The stories and gossip in the book are fascinating and some of the tales told by Damian Eadie, the dictionary corner hunk and producer, are cleverly put together and bring tears to your eyes.
Fans of the programme will love this book - no wonder Richard Whiteley keeps on plugging it so much - it's worth every penny, and there's the added bonus of some puzzles in there too.
