an amazing read 25 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
This book is anamazing read! Not only does it teach techniques for helping somone with problems but it also takes you to the depths of yourself and your own insecurities. If you want to know yourself better I would advise this book but be aware that although it is a very helpful read it may open cans that you are not ready to deal with so read at caution.

An important feature of all listening help is that the helper doesnt offer advice, in the sense of If I were you Id do this. Knowledge from your primary role or elsewhere may mean you can inform a help-seeker about choices available to him, but never advise someone what to do. "e;

Rushing to offer solutions is a common mistake made by people new to counselling skills. This tendency gets in the way of listening and is a trait you need to overcome. "e;
