Counseling and Therapy for Couples 1 Mar 2009
By Ellamill - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This was an excellent book! It was a required reading for my Relationship Therapy class. This book contains and breaks down a lot of theories and who and what they are used on/for. I wish I had used this book for my theories class, it would have simplified a lot of things for me.

Good couples overview 28 Dec 2011
By pelk - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Great text as far as readability and examples, however, I think I would have gotten more from it had it been a little heavier on applications/interventions. It was a very brief and basic overview of couples counseling, left me wanting a little more.

Nice and comprehensive 24 Nov 2011
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a good book if you want an overview of couples' therapies.

I got it for a class and found that I was reading through it before I was even assigned to read it. It's easy to read and applicable, especially if you're a beginning therapist/therapist in training.

The overviews of the various types of therapy are pretty brief, but it's nice to get a summary so that you can see if a certain type of therapy speaks to you, then you can go and read more in depth about it.

It also covers assessment, goal setting, treatment, etc.

Well written and easy to understand. I'm a student and was required to purchase book for class and I'm glad we did. A must read for any MFT student.
