ALL NEW KINDLE VERSION
Gold Award Winner/ MCA Best Picture Book

Cougar Cub Tales: I’m Just Like You is about a cougar cub brother and sister who, one day, encounter a creature very unlike themselves. They have ungrounded apprehension about whether or not the blind bobcat is “a REAL cougar cub”.
By the end of the tale, they realize that, despite their differences, they really ARE the same where it counts. They learn to overlook their physical differences as they embrace their new friend. It is a timeless story that deals with the everyday issue of intolerance, especially regarding physical difference and disability. It is written in a wonderful nonsensical rhyme, and the eighteen watercolors are an exquisite representation of this charming tale.

I really didn't like this book at all.

The writing was small so I couldn't concentrate on the story, it doesn't flow as you read it. The rhyme didn't match with each paragraph. By that I mean some verses had three lines, some four, some two. In some verses three words rhymed but then the next verse two rhymed. It was all over the place. I'm gonna have to read it again but I don't think that I will like it any better second time around.

Pointless story and really badly written.

Sorry author but I just don't get it yet..

3.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming rhyming tale (contains cats!) 15 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Cougar Cub tales has a sweet premise.
It's about two orphaned Cougar Cubs who come across a bobcat. The cubs are wary of the newcomer because he looks different, but they soon learn to accept him despite all his differences.
This story is set out in a rhyming style with pictures above each verse.
My take on it?
I have to admit I read this several times, to get the breaks into my head. The flow was a tad off in places for a rhyming tale and the rhymes rhymed inconsistently at times.
The layout is tiny on the kindle version, the writing was titchy, and to add to that the punctuation was off in places.
BUT I thought this was a very cute tale and I think any child would love it, young or old, the faults can be read around and of course the moral can't be faulted.
It just needs a minor edit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heartening message but picture too small 20 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first picture book I have bought and I am disappointed that the pictures are so small. The story has a lovely message that if we look hard enough we will find something in common with others.

1.0 out of 5 stars Well-intentioned, but not up to par 1 Feb 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
The rhyme scheme and illustrations were awkward. The story didn't really make sense, and the message was forced. Overall, my 3-yr-old and I didn't enjoy this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bright Pictures, gentle rhyme 24 Jun 2011
By Cheryl A. Bowman - Published on Amazon.com

Bright pictures and rhyming text in this children's picture book formatted for the kindle. Has a good message about accepting differences and using one's talents to help others. I read it on the Kindle for PC with two columns and it displayed well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purrrrfect 13 Sep 2011

We discovered Sharon Cramer yesterday at our local Fair. She is an amazingly gentle soul who has a genuine love for children and the stories she creates for them. I bought both Lost and Alone and I'm Just Like You. Both are fabulously illustrated and written. I love how Sharon weaves real life situations into a fun story that captures my son's attention and causes him to think and relate to his own life. I highly recommend both books!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet little story with a lesson 29 Mar 2013
By Sunny - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The cubs are just alike and when they meet somebody who looks very different, they aren't sure that they want to be friends. This story gives an example of how somebody else can look different and still be the same in many ways

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, with Strange formatting 11 April 2012
By Kent - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Seeing as the book is one of the top selling children's ebooks, I got this for the kindle fire to entertain the little ones. The formatting is strange - the text generally falls on a different page from the pictures, which I feel look very quickly done. The kids were bored with it very quickly - while its intentions are good, the rhyme scheme felt forced. Also, there should NEVER be grammatical errors in a children's book. Despite being a story about acceptance, it was hard for me to accept this one. 2/5
