Karen Dalton is one of those shadowy figures from the early 1960s who disappeared whilst others become household names, and I only heard of her via a chance listening on the wireless one evening. This is an hour-and-a-half live recording from 1962, just Dalton and her guitar or banjo, tackling 21 mainly traditional blues and folk numbers, although there are a couple of Fred Neil numbers as well. It's a bit rough in places, and her voice won't appeal to everyone, but there's a lot of great renditions of well-known songs here, her version of 'Darling Corey' is about the best I've heard from anyone. Well worth buying.
