handy and very usable 13 April 2010
used this on my recent Cotswold Way hike. It is handy and eminently usable in different ways. It folded happily in different ways so that the sections I wanted were on both outsides and slipped easily into the clear plastic sleeve that comes with it. the size of the sleeve and map are great to slip in and out of a hiking trouser leg pocket and the mapping is accurate enough for a well-marked National Trail. I left my OS maps behind this time, only taking Harveys and it was fine. (Used in conjunction with Kev Reynolds Cicerone guide). The town plan of central Bath was useful, too.

COTSWOLD WAY MAP XT 40 23 July 2010
By BRISAN
I bought this map last minute to walk and camp the cotswold way,it's really good unless you want to go far off route as the map only covers a few miles either side of cotswold way,but no problem route finding really clear mapping with the route marked in red, excellent product, printed on polyethylene to keep it dry, not sure if it does i always keep it in a map case !.
for anyone intending to camp along the cotswold way there are'nt many campsites, hailes abbey was the only campsite we used ,the rest of the way, we camped on the hills after getting water from nearby homes & farms, which worked out really well
for us, really great walk, would like to walk again in the spring, also walk is well signposted which really helped on the woodland sections!!. one good place to camp i just remembered was Nibley house at north nibley excellent camping on lawned area
next to house that is also a b&b (with shower).

Having the whole route on one weatherproof map seemed a great idea, but I prefer the OS Explorer scale, and this is what I used to download waypoints onto my Garmin, so I really didn't use this map at all as it wasn't detailed enough. Therefore in terms of value of money probably my worst purchase for our walk; although I must agree with a previous reviewer that the route is so well marked, having every OS Map isn't necessary. I used Mapyx Quo2 maps downloaded from my PC with the route marked. In terms of quality and convenience one cannot fault the Harvey Map, but it just didn't serve my purpose; pity OS don't come up with a similar product.
