This is a very informative guide to the evolution of the building techniques and designs of Cotswolds stone homes over the centuries. It also explains a number of very important differences between techniques and materials used within the area of the Cotswolds, which account for the distinct appearances of buildings. This book would be of help to anyone interested in the architecture of the area or who owns a period property and wants to understand how best to approach repairs and maintenance. On the downside, the photographs are in black in white which means that variations in stone colours etc are left somewhat to the imagination.
