The landscape these cycle routes pass through is rich in imagery from rolling pastures, dry-stone walls and trickling trout streams to honey-coloured stone cottages in sleepy hamlets. The 27 circular routes on this map are designed to follow the quietest country lanes. They also include traffic-free Family Cycling Trails; Stroud Valley, The Oxford Waterway and Forest of Dean Family Trails. The routes are easy to follow and the mapping clear at an ideal scale for touring of 2 miles to 1 inch/1: 126,720 with Altitude Layering (contours). National Cycle Network routes; NCN 5, 41, 45 and 48 are illustrated. For those without bikes, ten Cycle Hire centres are also listed.
