I bought this book for my space daft 4 year old having spied it in WH Smith but not wanting to pay the full price so sent for it from Amazon. To be honest it was well worth the money. The cover of the book as a little button you can press to ignite the solar flare. It is a pop up book consisting of 7 double page spreads. However three of these pages fold out further again and the amount of information contained is very good. The first spread is about the formation of the universe and as you open the book up a sound chip makes an exploding noise. There is also a massive pop up section within portraying the various galaxies being thrown out into space and loads of facts. The second spread is about looking into space, the third about the planets and the fourth is a wonderful fold out model of the solar system. After that comes a section on stars, then galaxies and black holes and finally a fold out on exploring space and a fold out on the moon landing with a great pop up of the lunar module and astronauts on the moon.
I would recommend this to all ages as although my son is only 4 I have read this to him and he has enjoyed looking at the pop up and interactive parts to the book. A really lovely gift for any space mad child up to the age of about 12.
