I recently got this high chair for my 5 mth old, and so far, so great! I was also looking at the Fisher Price (FP) rainforest high chair (which has a lot of great reviews here on amazon), ordered both and got to compare them side by side. All of the great features of the rainforest are on this one but some better versions.
It has 6 heights, 3 seat recline positions, a food tray to click into the main tray
- 6 heights - the height markings are on both front legs (FP only on one side), so you can't misalign the brackets when moving it up and down
- the standing/open footprint is smaller than the FP chair so less likely to get in the way/trip up on
- the folded chair locks - this is a big one for me - and the tray neatly hangs off the back legs, so it will say where it's put (a key complaint about the FP chair# and it's neater when folded away.
- really easy to assemble - only 4 screws to place #the FP one had quite a bit to do to assemble it#, as it has spring pins to lock elements in place and the seat comes mostly assembled.
- the cosatto web site does give me the impression I'm going to get good after-care service if I need it too.
- not sure if the straps are machine washable - they're going to get messy! - but they do come out and I am going to email cosatto to see if they can go in the machine
- don't think the snap-in tray is dishwasher proof#?)like the FP, but not sure how often you'd load it in anyway vs. just a quick spray and wipe or quick hand wash.
- I think the main tray on the cosatto is a little bit clumsy to move on and off but maybe that's to childproof it better.
- good support for baby when he's not yet sitting upright totally alone but ready to wean
I thought the FP rainforest seat design is really fun though, and had a nice matt finish to the plastic.
Really pleased with the choice I've made and would recommend this Cosatto Noodle chair. (Sorry Fisher Price, it's going back).
