Product Description

Product Description

The Cosatto Aurora Highchair is suitable from 6 months to approximately 3 years of age, and is a scrumptious addition to any family's kitchen or dining area. The highchair has a funky design with a PVC padded seat to keep little one comfy at dinner time, which can be removed easily and wiped clean. The tray has two parts to it, both of which are dishwasher-safe, and three positions for every stage of your child's growth; the highest tray position is 87 cm and the lowest is 65 cm. The seat also has a five-point harness to keep baby safe and secure, and a three-position recline so that your baby can have a little snooze after dinner. As well as recline positions, the Cosatto Aurora also has six height positions; the Highest seat position is 65 cm and the lowest is 43 cm. The Aurora is very practical – it folds flat for easy storage and has rear wheels so that the highchair can be easily manoeuvred. All Cosatto products come with a free four-year guarantee when you register your product within 28 days of purchase (UK and Ireland only).

This seat really does look the part - however, my daughter even in the upright position is not sat upright enough and struggles to reach food from the tray. She is 9 months old now and still not obviously big enough to benefit from this chair enough. She has only fallen asleep in it once so the recline facility has not been much use to us. My parents bought a cheap high chair for use when we visited and it's actually much better - my daughter can sit upright in it and grab food from the tray.

My advice - go to a shop if you can and sit your baby in the chair. this seat is a bit too confortable - it's almost like eating from an armchair!

EDIT: My daugher is now 20 months old and this chair still isn't right. There is still a large gap between the tray and her so now that she's feeding herself it gets all over her. She does much better in the cheap second-hand chair that my parents bought for her which enables her to sit up straight and the tray will adjust to be closer to her.

Shame really.

Like the previous bad review by Vic B we have experienced similar problems with this highchair.

We wrote to Cosatto with the following points:
• The sitting up position is too far reclined
• The shoulder straps are too low for our 9 month old, which forces a cramped position
• The attachments that join the shoulder and waist straps together are of poor design or manufacture, which means they are very difficult to fasten, and once fastened they easily become entangled
• The crotch strap is positioned too far forward, allowing the child to slip down a long way
• The table part is too high compared to the seated child, in fact it is higher than the shoulder restraints! This means that the child cannot easily reach items placed on the table if the shoulder restraints are used
Several of the above faults cause the child to sit in a slouched position with the spine bent into a sharp curve, which we do not think is a safe sitting position, or a suitable posture for eating. Furthermore the low position of the shoulder straps has meant that we had to stop using these for the last 3 months. As our baby becomes more mobile this is becoming a serious safety issue so we feel unable to continue using the chair. Because of these various faults we believe that this chair is not fit for the purpose it was sold.

Cosatto inspected the chair and told us there was no problem, and that the highchair was award-winning. They implied that the problem was our son!

We are now using the much cheaper Chicco Happy Snack highchair and our son is able to sit upright and reach his food!

My little girl is currently only on week two of weaning but I already LOVE this chair - it looks very cool but that really is just a bonus, I didn't realise how easy it was going to be to use. I strongly recommend having a look at the user demo on Youtube before buying, as it gives you a great idea of what it's like.

The recliner is great, and adjusting the heights is a piece of cake (ours isn't wonky, so they aren't all like some reviewers have, if you get a wonky one I'd send it back)

I find it no trouble to manouvre, but I have hard floors, it may be more difficult on carpet. It's also very lightweight so easy to pick up. However I don't think it would easily be packed into a car boot, so it's best if you want one that just stays in the house. It's very sturdy, which is what I wanted as I have a dog and was concerned about a flimsy chair getting knocked over.

The two trays are genius for cleaning and the pat mat is lovely although my little girl isn't able to reach it very well yet at only 6 months, it'll be great for later.

Only negative points are the straps are quite cheap and scratchy, they don't really fit with the rest of the chair, and the tray is difficult to attach to the back of the chair for storage, it falls off if not on properly, and often falls off if the storage basket underneath is full.

On the whole a fantastic purchase, sturdy, lightweight and fabulous to look at, my mummy friends are all envious :)

I would absolutely recommend this product.

This highchair looks good and appears comfy but my little boy constantly slipped down in the seat due to the crotch strap being too far forwards. The highest position of the backrest is still very slanted and not upright enough, I contacted Cosatto regarding the matter and they were very unhelpful. The tray is also too high, I did think that this wouldn't be a problem once my little boy was taller, at 11 months old he still couldn't see food on the tray properly , the tray comes level with his shoulders, this possibly due to the fact he was always slouched due to the back of the seat (he is average height for his age). I have recently bought a new highchair and I can't believe that I put up with this one for so long.

Bought this for my disabled son - he has down's syndrome.
the pushchair is solid, comfy and reflux proof!
The two trays interjoin and can be stored at the back.
Easy to assemble from packaging and has a play water tray toy.
the straps to keep baby in are safe and adjustable for even a small baby
there are arm rests which can be lifted up
its manoverable either up or down and doesnt really take as much space as you think - ok so it doesnt fold down like the cheaper ones - but its solid floor standing as oppose to not so solid
it looks cool and is very comfy with extra padding for head support
when i bought mine is was cheaper than those not as good at the maor baby places and included free delivery - arrived next day in fact.
It can be put up and put down with one hand - while holding baby - not both sides at once, you have to move around - its secure when up. The tray underneath is great for toys used only at meal times - no dashing off to keep baby happy, its all underneath.
