4.0 out of 5 stars Corsair XMS2-6400-C5 4GB kit review 11 Jun 2010
By Dan Son
Product arrived on time and worked first time without any problem. Heatspreaders are smaller than the ones on DHX modules, so they did not obstruct my heatsink+fan. Have been running 24x7 for 45 days without problems.

I built my PC back in 2007 on a strict budget. Therefore at the time I could only afford 1GB total RAM (in the form of 2 x 512MB XMS2 Corsair matched pair RAM sticks). This was OK but my system was a bit slow. I also had issues recently that my system would not boot properly or suddenly crash. I thought that this could be due to a faulty RAM chip, so I decided to upgrade. I decided to purchase this product as it has the same chipset (XMS2) as I already had in my system. My system is now thrice as fast as before! I would certainly recommend upgrading RAM to at least 3GB for any system and this RAM does the job. I now have 5GB of RAM in my system, but don't forget 32bit Operating Systems (OS) can only use 3GB. When a system is upgraded to a 64bit OS it can then use all the available memory. Therefore don't go mad buying all the memory under the sun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant memories! 24 Jan 2011

I found this product to be as good as I can expect from a design perspective - it does what it says on the tin and has allowed me to upgrade my computer and play games at higher quality settings. I had 3GB before, adding these has given me and extra .25GB in Win XP but as they are higher frequency (800Mhz as opposed to 667Mhz), I was able to play games at better settings without a performance hit. In Win 7 64 bit, I get the full benefit of these sticks and Crysis plays much better! The only down side is you can forget about trying to OC these sticks, PC won't boot up with these at a fraction above 800Mhz

4.0 out of 5 stars Good upgrade 11 Nov 2011
By NicJ
I built my PC in early 2010, with Intel Quad 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM and Windows 7 32-bit OS, most of the parts are purchased on Amazon. All worked well at that time. As the number of applications installed are increased and, more and more applications started to run in parallel it began to crank slowly.

So decided to upgrade to the memory. Bought Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5C 4GB 800MHz C5 DDR2 Memory Kit RAMs and installed in seconds and upgraded the OS to Windows 64-bit OS (The Windows 7 comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of OS in separate DVD discs). Now it's working like a super-computer. The upgrade was in mid 2011 and been using it heavily for the last 4 months, it's working very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT MEMORY 17 Dec 2010
By J. Wood
Knowing the name of Corsair I had no hesitation in getting this memory kit, it doubled my memory in one go and the difference is really great, all I had to do was make sure my motherboard could take 4gig of memory (it could) and once installed the difference was that the whole computer ran faster on the net and the couple of games I play, so if your computer can take 4gig and you dont have that much I can recomend this kit.

Bought these recently to replace my old OCZ Reaper sticks on my Abit IP-35 Pro Mobo. Upgraded from 4Gb to 8Gb by buying 4 sticks of these and everything worked perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars corsair memory 16 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
this was a 2nd pair of 2GB desktop memory, making 8GB of memory for my system .I had upgraded my operating system to Windows 7 64bit.
I knew this would work because I had 4gb already.
my system is about 2 years old and I had a problem with the memory after the first year and Corsair replaced both sticks without question and this was dealt with quickly.
I purchased from Amazon because it was a good price, they came very quickly considering I opted for free deliver 3-5 working days and the packing was fine.
I would recommend both Amazon and Corsair anytime.
